Launching the Infrastructure Prototype Reference Stack

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Infrastructure Prototype Reference Stack. This project is part of the National Research Infrastructure for Cultural Heritage (N-RICH) Prototype, a two-year investment in the UK’s world-renowned cultural heritage collections, made possible through funding from the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Infrastructure Fund Preliminary Activity grant awarded to the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC). The prototype is being delivered by the Towards a National Collection (TaNC) programme in collaboration with AHRC.

The Infrastructure Prototype Reference Stack, (a set of tools and standards) led by Answer Digital, shares the vision of the TaNC programme of unlocking and realising the untapped research, innovation, and economic potential of UK cultural heritage collections.  This will help connect the UK's fragmented heritage collections and aims to solve the ongoing challenges around siloed and incompatible data, making it more accessible and secure, so researchers can use it more effectively.
